Since my passion is sort of about cinematography and videomaking, today I will talk some about filming. Filming is great. or me, it’s the one part of the video process where I can be wild and silly. Today I went to the geography fair (which I must say was great) and DJ, Richard, and I had a great time filming. We had been asked to collect footage for the podcast coming out the tomorrow, and we went loco. We were running all over with the camera, stalking Mr. Jobe, “tagging” peoples’ booths, and doing all sorts of fun stuff. We were really having a lot of fun. Each of us at one time was doubled over, his sides splitting from laughing at another’s silly behavior. We realized that we did need to get some real footage or Mr. Katz was going to kill us, so we made somewhat of an effort to go around the fair, interviewing guests about how they felt and getting some shots of the actual booths. I encourage you all to check out the CDS podcast. It is certainly a great time. Anyways, with filming, it’s like you’re just free, free to record whatever piece of time you would like, free to do funny stuff and… I don’t know. Whenever you get a videocamera, you have to film. It’s a compulsion, a longing coming from that piece of electronic genius, a longing to film! Seriously, haven’t you guys ever felt that? Haven’t you ever just wanted to film as much as you can and more? It’s just like something natural, to want to get in somebody’s face and ask them stuff, or to run around recording some stilly stunt. Anyways, more about what we did at the fair. Well, like I said, we “tagged” the booths. That consisted of grabbing the little miniature flags from certain booths and sticking into another country’s booth’s fruits, goods, and just whatever. It was great watching the people’s reactions. Some took them out silently. Others picked them out and threw them at us. The most crazy was the one who said they were actually going to tell Mrs. Porter. I mean we were just joking. Well, that was fun, but we did other stuff too. We went into others’ booths and “helped them out” or even pretended to be them! In conclusion, filming is a lot of fun.
An Awesome Day
Yesterday really was an awesome day. It started out good because my best friend DJ had slept over at my house. We woke up and chilled around the house in the morning; first we ate breakfast, than we watched Enchanted. That was a really good movie. At around 9:30, DJ and I mosied our way on outside, got on our skateboards, and skated around in front of my house. Although neither of us is that good, we had fun practicing our tricks and just being with a friend. Eventually we got a little tired of just skating around in front of my house, so we went down to the Casa Club. After skating there for about five minutes, the guards came and told us we couldn’t skate there. Woo. After sitting down for a little bit, we decided to skate home. By the time we got there it was about 12:00. We started to grill some hot dogs, and then my other good friend Matt pulled into my neighborhood with his older friend Keven. We had our hot dogs, talked a while about random things with my dad and Keven, and then headed out to skate some more. At first we just rolled around in front of my house like before, popping some tricks and just having fun. Keven was really good, landing tre flips and lots of crazy stuff. After that we started to go around the neighborhood looking for somewhere good to skate. We didn’t really find anywhere good just because there are only houses and at the one place with good stuff (the casa club) we’re not allowed to skate. We ended up skating around in the parking lot, which was still A LOT of fun. Keven was really good, and gave me some pointers on how I was doing my b/s 180s. He told me to keep my eye on the board, which has helped me SO much. A little while later Keven left but Matt stayed and we skated some more. Down by the pool in my neighborhood some kids at a party were doing this thing on the grass in front of the basketball course. Hotdogging around on the court, we started to do a little demo for them, popping ollies and doing whatever we could. Matt cavemanned off this chair, and then DJ took off his shirt and started skating around. All the kids loved that, and one of them, who had a skateboard too, came down and took his shirt off and started riding around. Eventually, we decided it was time to go and we ran and jumped into the pool. It felt SO good, but was then sort of hard to skate home because we didn’t want to get our boards wet. WE did get home though, and DJ and Matt both left shortly afterwards. My family and I then went to Pizza Gino, this cool little pizza parlor. It was really good there, and I ate more than usual. We then went home, and I, tired from the crazy day and the 4+ hard hours of skating, fell on my bed and hit the hay. Due to this awesome day, I think I am now fully revived in my passion for skating. All I want to do is skate. I want to go out and practice my tricks and have fun on my board. Woo-hoo!
